Game On Cancer 2017 is in full swing, and we are so excited to have you on our team. Keep an eye on these bi-weekly newsletters for the tips, tools, and resources to be a champion for our cancer patients.
GOC KICK-OFF EVENTS:
We are kicking off our 2017 campaign with events at some of our Henry Ford Health System locations. Whether you are a HFHS employee, or a community member who would like to stop by, we invite you all to bring your friends, bring your colleagues, and join us at an upcoming kick-off:

FUNDRAISING TIPS:
 Always,
always start with your participant center and sending emails. The more emails
you send, with follow-up, the better results. Personalize your page –
your story matters!
Visit www.gameoncancer.com
and login to your participant center in the upper righthand corner. From there,
you will be able to send emails to friends and family, edit your personal page,
and share your URL.
CONTEST:
Any Parrotheads out there?! Have some fun with your FUNdraising and win tickets to see Jimmy Buffett in concert. 
For every $50 raised on your fundraising page between June 7 and July 1, you will be entered to win a summer concert package to see Jimmy Buffett and The Coral Reefer Band at DTE Energy Music Theater on July 11, 2017. The package includes 4 tickets and a VIP parking pass.
Team Captains - this is a great opportunity to use this as an incentive to recruit new team members! Encourage them to make a $50 self-donation to kick-start their fundraising, and they'll be entered to win tickets to this fun, summer show.

GOC TEAM OF THE MONTH SPOTLIGHT: C. Ancers for Cancer
According to team member Lisa Patten, “A lot of us have been touched by cancer, perhaps through a family member or a friend. This is a positive way to give back. Some have joined the team for employee engagement, to meet others in our work environment. And I can safely say, we all do it for the satisfaction of helping someone else in need.”
C. Ancers for Cancer has held several different types of fundraisers. Patten tells us that their most successful fundraising efforts have involved food. (Of course! Everyone LOVES to eat, don’t they?)
The team’s other successful events have involved baskets. “We have a wide range of donated items which we make into specific themed baskets and we auction them within the Northfield Building. Our biggest basket effort will be taking place in the near future. We requested each individual department within our building to supply a themed basket of their choice to be auctioned off at the end of May. Each department stepped up to the challenge!” Lisa said.
