Scout will be 14 years old next month. She is an Australian Shepherd, bred to herd sheep. But guess what— I don’t live on a farm! Yet her protective instincts always come shining through—she’s been my constant companion during my own cancer treatment, and especially when I must isolate myself at home from outside infection. She keeps a close eye on the grandchildren when she’s babysitting 😉; and protective of me when service people come to our door. She is loved by family and friends alike.
